Mrs. Kimberlyn Gilchrist

Law - 10th/11th Grades

Mrs. Gilchrist has been leading the mock trial program at Faith Academy since 2018. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Communications from Newman University in 2013, and a Juris Doctorate degree from the University of Kansas School of Law in 2016.

While attending the University of Kansas School of Law, she was part of a mock trial team and received a trial advocacy certificate. She is licensed to practice law in the State of Kansas and the United States District Court in the District of Kansas.

Faith Academy's Mock Trials class focuses on teaching students a comprehensive understanding of the trial process, the roles of those in the courtroom and their importance to the administration of justice, and the significance of their constitutional protections. Mock trial teaches essential skills such as public speaking, critical thinking, and the art of forming a persuasive, cohesive, argument. In mock trials, students demonstrate their ability to think within an adversarial system in front of a judge and their peers. It is the combination of interaction between students and the public nature of a mock trial that make it extremely well suited to teach thinking, speaking, and listening skills.

Mrs. Gilchrist has been married to Daniel since 2015 and enjoys gardening, exercising, baking, playing the piano, and singing. Her favorite Bible verse is Micah 6:8, He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy
and to walk humbly with your God.
